Hi, 🙂

I'm looking for an amp to drive on my recently received Diatone DS-66EX speaker.

I'd like to know the comparison/review (no need to elaborate) of the sound of these Amplifier (no need to review all just only what you've experienced, it's ok) 🙂
- Diatone
- Victor
- Sansui
- Lo-D
- Technics
- Exclusive/Pioneer
- Luxman

'cause I used to own only Marantz, NAD , Sony, Denon and Bryston.

Thank you

Difficult (if not impossible) to recommend

Hi presscot, my 2 cents.

DS-66EX are good Japanese vintage speakers from the 2-nd half of 1980's.

However, I don't believe it's possible to adequately choose an amplifier based on somebody's review/opinion, without auditioning it yourself with your particular speakers and/or sources.

I personally like what Exclusive/Pioneer and Sansui produced at that time (even made a sort of M3 Exclusive "re-incarnation" design last year - HERE), but it does not mean you will like them, and it does not mean you will like them with your speakers 🙂

Cheers,
Valery

Nikko TRM 600 is lovely, but only the amp stage as the preamplifier...well 🙄
Indeed, we should consider the sound of the whole...
Sansui Au-5500 sounds good
Pioneer SA 608 too, despite its phono and pre sections based on full NFB working ICs
Good old SA-500 (small TO-3 Bjts) sounds good too
