Designing a Voice Coil - How do you calculate or estimate such parameters?

Okay, now I know, for example, what kind of Xmax value I want to achieve and what kind of material I want to use for the voice coil, but how do I put the rest together?
 
Start with the diameter that you designed the core of the magnet to be. Decide the impedance, power handling and material then work out the gauge of wire, (copper or aluminium) flat wound or standared, then wind the coil.
Now the interesting bit starts ... size and material of cone, volume the speaker will work in, for maximum efficiency and ... do you really want to make a loudspeaker? Why not buy one, ready made that performs as you want.
 
Where is your gap width?? Are 4 layers going to fit?? Copper? Aluminum? Copper clad Aluminum? Round wire option for ribbon? You have a jig to wind it on or and round it with? What target impedance/ DCR are you looking for?? Inductance?? Power handling?? What type of former, adhesive's and wire insulation rating and type??

Just thinking things out.

What does "the rest together" mean?

As far as the voice coil goes, it appears to show most of the parameters, I guess it continues to the right.

FWIW my back of an envelope calculations tell me it will have about 160 turns in 4 layers, DCR about 2.7 ohm.
I guess you aimed at a 4 ohm nominal speaker.

Absolute minimum magnet diameter would be 170mm, 190mm much better and if at all posible 220mm, go for it.

Only problem I see is (I guess a subwoofer, and even if a plain woofer): you have dangerously short X damage

X max is fine, some 9 mm, but X Damage is only 10-11 mm. , almost zero tolerance.

You need to stack another 20mm magnet for 40mm total plate to plate or if possible have the back plate bumped ... and even so .... that would only give you only extra 5 or 6 mm.

Now you know why Car subwoofers routinely have 2 and even 3 magnets stacked.
