Not new to the DEQ2496 having used one, a V2 running 2.5 firmware, for several years in my music studio I just added one to my home system when my vintage BRS started acting up. The new unit came with firmware 3.0. I could not find a download for 3.0 nor any description. Contacted support through this website and they sent me the file with the typical we can't guarantee and suggest you take to a "pro" tech. Well I've done firmware updates on other equipment forever.
So started up the DEQ into the bootloader config, using Midi-OX sent the 3.0 firmware to the DEQ. It did it's thing running the little completion bar thingy, taking about 5 minutes or so. The Midi-Ox update window completes and closes but the DEQ just sits there with the "updating firmware" message. Let it sit for a while and decide to just do the power recycle and it boots back to "firmware not found" and "waiting for firmware upload". After further investigation read that the MIDI out should be unplugged. OK unplugged ran again, same problem. It won't close out the uploading and go to the "recycle the power" screen to complete the update.
Had to reload the 2.5 firmware which went without a hitch. I did reply back to support email that sent the 3.0 file and waiting to hear from them. Any ideas out there why the 3.0 won't finalize the update? Could the update file itself be the problem?
I also asked if there was a change log for the 2.5 -> 3.0 and any feature changes but have not heard back, anyone know?
