I've read posts stating the Denovo DNA-360 is a clone of the B&C DE250. I was wondering if the voice coils were interchangeable between the two. Erich states a different architecture. I asked him how much a replacement voice coil/ dome would be for the 360 and he only stated he could get them.
If the voice coils/domes aren't interchangeable, it isn't the same driver. Its an issue of being able to get new domes if in the future the 360 is no longer available.

I do not think that the domes are interchangeable. It used to be that many of the Chinese knock-offs did have interchangeable dome assemblies to the DE250, I know because I did that many times. But somewhere along the line B&C changed the DE250 just enough so that the huge black market of DE250 domes could no longer be used in the DE250. The change must have been miniscule because I could not find any differences, but what used to be interchangeable no longer is. I suspect this is the change that I got caught in some years back when my crossover design no longer worked right. It was small and even within B&C's spec, but it was there.
There is no end of Chinese copies of the DE250. Just search through Alibaba.

Thanks Dr Geddes. I was just verifying a suspicion that it isn't the same driver if the domes aren't the same. Availability and support after the fact are more important to me than any superficial price difference.
All of the knock-offs are pretty good, but none are quite the same as the B&C which is why I haven't changed. And as far as I am concerned B&Cs support is first rate. (Well it is for me since the CEO and I are good friends! I just call him up 🙂 )
