Hi Bigred. Thank you so much for your reply. Please send an email on taflan@automedia.ro and andreitaflan@yahoo.com. My intention is to use the DAP 5500 to extract the digital audio signal from a DVD player Yamaha DVD S-2500 and to put it into the Dac of the Denon preamp. For the clasic CD signal should I use the 44kHz sampling frequency on DAP 5500 ?
Any recomandation for the setup to use toegether with this preamp? Espacially regarding the amplifiers and the speakers.
Thank you so much once again. All the best.

Recommendations are really pointless in my opinion if we are talking merely sound. This is a very subjective topic after all. Its best to audition gear whenever possible and let your own ears do the recommending 🙂 If you just want some ideas well there are many variables. How much money do ya want to spend? How much power do you require? etc. etc. I'm also not a fan of recommending gear without actual experience with particular combos. I often wonder how some people can recommend this amp with that pre and those speakers blah blah and they have never heard those particular combos themselves. I haven't had the luxury of auditioning the DAP-5500 with a bunch of different amps let alone speakers but I will tell you that if you want to stick with Denon then you can't go wrong with a set of POA-6600's, 4400's or any of the POA amps for that matter. Speakers are another whole can of worms. Just my :2c:

Hey guys,
Still searching for a 230 volts DAP-5500, do you know where I could find one ?
(live in France).
By the way, I plan to use one as a preamp and send him already analogic audio.
Is it good at ti ?
Thank you,
Regards

Need advice....

I have a chance to get a DAP 5500 that I would use with tube amps. Is this a good idea or should I just get a tube preamp like everybody tells me to? I would need a manual, so if there is one available I'd sure like to see it since this Denon looks pretty complicated!
