Had a super fast power outage, less than a second. Was on my computer, battery back up clicked on and off, smoke detector beeped but all went back to normal in a hurry. Checked the clock radio which will blink after an outage and the microwave clock too, no blinking. Forgot about the whole thing until a couple of hours later when I tried to turn on my tuner and it would not turn on; no power, no noise, nothing. Checked a touch lamp in one of the bedrooms because it will come on after an outage and it indeed was on; so I didn’t imagine the power outage. All afternoon I tried to turn the unit on with no luck. Took it out from its cabinet, took the cover off and checked the eight fuses I could find which were all ok. Let the unit sit overnight, plugged it in the next day and tuner immediately started clicking as if you were turning it off and on real fast with the remote. No indication that the unit actually comes on, no lights on front display panel; it just starts clicking the moment you plug it in and does not stop until you unplug it. The noise comes from where the power wire connects on the inside (left rear).
Does anyone here have any idea what might be wrong and what costs might be involved? Talked to a local shop, wanted $75.00 just to check the batteries; jeez!

Don't know which is F601. Took out both fuses from where the power cord comes in, they are good; so are the other 6, just by looking at them.

Had to put on my bifocals to see better. The two I took out are F601 and F602; the others are F101, F102, F103, F104, F801R and F801L(?), they're good also. Are there any other fuses I might have missed?

You can buy units similar to this very cheaply used, so I'd look into that instead of a repair.
Sometimes a dropout can be followed by a surge, so it could have been damaged from over voltage.

What you say is true. The ones I saw on eBay were in bad shape and only tested for power-up with no returns accepted. Mine is a really clean unit and never gave any problems; if it's cheap to fix, I'd rather do that.
