Switch it off, UNPLUG it and leave it for 10 minutes and then check again.
Most modern TV's have a degaussing circuit. As UrSv says, switch the TV off (make sure you actually turn it off not just put it in standby) for 10 minutes and then see if the problem improves when you turn it back on.

And since I don't trust any manufacturer completely I usually recommend unplugging rather than switching off as mentioned. Who knows what is powered up inside...
Lower the contrast.
If the 'green spot' disappears, there is too much current running true the CRT. This can lead to strange coloured areas on the screen.
Most new TV sets are factory preset with very high contrast for commercial reasons.
This spoils the CRT quite fast.
