Well... I thought I purchased a warner power metal halide ballast and metal halide lamp on ebay but instead received a Hansmann Electronics DC ballast and some sort of short arc lamp with an elliptical reflector. Arc looks to be around 2-3mm. The ballast is for some sort of, I believe, xbo/hbo type short arc lamp. I can't find any other documentation/info on it. It does work but my concern is the replacement bulbs are more expensive than metal halides and the average life range is from 300-500 hrs. I'm sure it was a good deal but if it will eventually cost more with lamp replacements, I probably don't want it.
Should a seek a refund? How does it compare to standard metal halides? I don't even have any specs on the ballast or lamp to do comparisons. Any opinions would be appreciated.
And if anybody can read German, the model number is ERF-DC3.
