Does anyone know where to find the schematics for a dbx 286s microphone processor? I have the schematics for the dbx 286a. They are not the same. A friend wants to convert a dbx 286s to +13.8 VDC operation for mobile use. It seems that the power supply is just a ±15V supply (not including the phantom power supply) which can be supplied by a dc-to-dc converter that may be able to be mounted inside the case.
You want to use a DC to DC converter to raise 1V ?
Have You actually tested it directly in the car ?
I would better invest in a line filter to filter out some engine noise...

Oh sorry. Didn't notice You need a symmetrical supply...I would perhaps use a 12V to 110 or 220V converter.
something like this perhaps
