Here I'm going to start a custom thread for my dayton audio ultimax 15" subwoofer. I have already used Google sketchup and designed all the plans and cuts for the MDF boards. It's designed to be about 3.9 cubic ft sealed which is exactly what dayton parts express have stated is optimal for this specific driver. I will post some pictures of what I have done already to get this project started.
Looks pretty good, although I might consider another layer on the front, it looks like the area where the screws bite that inner cutout is kinda close...could just be the angle of the picture though.

+1 , though for such a 'beefy'/high power handling driver that flange does look a bit on the delicate side. Sure wouldn't want it to bust loose under high excursion.
By 'optimum', I hope this is for a vehicle because it's way too small for HIFI/HT.

Glued some more last night
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Front is being glued! !! Then just sanding, painting, filling and setting the driver
Ahhh pretty much ready for some putty sanding primer and paint. What would you guys recommend for paint and what brand. What to seal it with too?

Duratex is always a solid choice.
If WAF is a concern, I've had decent luck with the vinyl stick-on from parts express.
The duratex looks like it would be awesome for pro audio gear or gear that you take outside the house. I'm looking for something a little more professional as far as a home application goes. send me a link to that stick on from parts express
They must have stopped making woodgrain ones, I can't find them anymore.
The carbon fiber one looks pretty cool though.

I rounded the sides of the sub to match these rbh mc616 speakers I have.

Very nice, it's going to look amazing next to those
Those are my right center left channels in the HT design
It's always nice to see someone using matching LCR channels.
