dayton polypropylene cap, polarity?

But hook them up the same way in both channels !!!!

You will have different sounding channels if you don't. They don't have polarity but the outer foil ( when marked ) is connected preferably to the lowest impedance point ( mostly the ground side ). That way they are not so susceptible to radiated noise.
 
ok thanks alot. i hooked them both up the same way before reading the replies and i tested them on a test speaker and generated tones with my computer sound card---plotted it logarithmically and it worked out perfectly! ... i used copper foil air core inductors and dayton polypropylene caps from parts express and so far so good
