A comapny called Datalux produces 10.4 inch touchscreen LCDs. New they sell for a little over $1000, but they seem to go consistently for about $200-$250 used. They have some following in the mp2car community. I'm not sure the exact specs, but It's 800*600 native, and is either 1.2 or 16.7 million colors and active matrix. I have no idea if it's diy-able, but if it is it would be an awsome option for those wishing to make a compact projector like the korean ones we've seen latley. I've read that the touchscreen can be removed with some difficulty, but if it doesn't lower the light output too much I wouldn't see a reason for it. If someone wants to experiment, there's one on eBay right now with a $250 buy it now. According to the seller it's in great condition... could be a nice LCD.
