I'm having a pair of Ellam FLEX 3W speakers designed by Troels Gravesen built for me. To get the most out of them I upgraded my amp from a rotel to a Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated Amplifier, but now I need some DAC suggestions since most of my music library is stored on a pc.
Should I go the diy route, or are there any great DACs that won't break the bank ? After paying for the speakers and amp my funds are at a minimum. Or do I really even need a DAC ?
Thanks

How about a CA DacMagic plus? In Germany there are companies that offer serious upgrade kits for the DM, but the DAC is worth a try in original version, too. Excellent speakers anyway; they deserve good source material!
