Hi all
I built a DAC and it sounds good but I would like to make some simple measurements such as frequency response, distortion, etc.
How do I go about it?
Can I do it with the REW program, for example?
I will find some instructions somewhere?
Thanks in advance

DACs are best measured on laboratory equipment. Computer interfaces are generally very noisy because of numerous digital circuits sharing the same supply / return and / or operating in the vicinity of the sound card. However, it may be OK for frequency response measurement.
To be honest, your DAC might actually be superior..

Hi Zoltan
With all due respect to newvirus2008 post above, don't be discoraged to try with whatever soundcard you have.
REW is top notch and powerful app.
Read the excellent documentation and learn how to use it, how to optimise the results by doing loopback tests (soundcard out to soundcard in). In idle and with signal.
See what is the noise floor and distortion profile (FFT through RTA button).
Feel confident with testing and verify the performance of your soundcard first.
It will take you some (enjoyable) time 🙂
Then you can proceed with testing other devices.
