Actually i am using a virtue sensation ( tripath ) integrated amp in my cheap set up.
In my other set i have an altec 515 16g which is used up to 600 hertz. Right now i use it with a tube amp but i wanna start bi amping soon.
So i am looking for a solid state class d or t which has a high input impedance 50kohm or higher and a input stage that can accept a few volts because i am using a daniel tube dac which has 4.4vvolts output all bits on . After that a tube line amp.
How to do it. Use an input transformer? Which one?
The altec seems to like an amp which is capable of giving the same power between 8 and 60 ohm ( according to a french magazine). I did read on a french forum that someone did use a 880mw headphone amp which is designed for a 32ohm or up headphone.
Maybe buy something similar but higher powervpower.
I love to have one that can bevfedvby a battery .
