A lot of diyers prefer to use passive I/V conversion instead of P-amp based convertor in their designs. The resistor value is from 10 Ohm up to 600 Ohm (AN, AD1865) with output scale of 1-2mA. I remember Mr.Hawksford AES preprint, where he wrote that large impedance of I/V convertor lead to higher distortion. I understand that sensitivity to load impedance depends on DAC internal circuitry. Could you help me to find a comparison/distortion chart/distortion data for any DAC with current output loaded on low and high impedance? May be someone of you made these measurements?
