Crossover problem..."talking" mylar cap
I Have just built a pair of crossovers. One of thecrossover cap is trying to reproduce music. I was testing the finished crossover outside the enclosure and before I hooked the drivers up to it, and while an audio signal was hooked up to the crossover, I could hear the music coming out of something on the crossover board.
My questions.......Is this common? Both caps in both crossovers are doing the same thing.

That sure sounds (ouch!) like a bad cap. I'd replace it and any others of the same brand/type with a different brand/type. My guess is that the maker didn't control the tension of the windings or stack very well.
