I am the owner of a pair of the td1. I like them well enough. But I wonder how they would sound upgraded to the td1x. I would like objective opinions on the differences. Anyone who has heard both, or upgraded, have any thoughts on this? Also is the difference worth the many extra $$$$$'s ? thank you
My thoughts based on when I was young enough to fully appreciate the difference would be a 'no brainer' choice because being a 'hornie' with ~full range detail/clarity to die for would never willingly settle for less. After ~76 years of being exposed to high SPLs on a regular basis and often at bona fide hearing damaging SPLs for one reason or another, doubt it would be worth it unless as a nearfield monitor and/or at higher than normal SPLs.
I could have been more clear. What I am talking about is the upgrade conversion kit. It has the newer and improved ld25x tweeter, and revised x-over. The x-over upgrade is something I would do myself.
