Hey

Im new to all this speaker jargon, there's so much i can't take it all in! :bawling:

I own a Creative FPS 2000 Digital system, it's said to have a 5 1/4 inch , 25Watt sub???? I've got some time on my hands and i wanted to experiment with making a new box to get me some more BASS!!! (which is what we all want! hey???)

I have no idea of the specs and i have looked frantically for them, with no luck..... 😡

Any ideas on what type of box i can use for it? It currently uses a bandpass enclosure. Could i try to make a simple Bass Reflex box or a Sealed box???? And what about the size of the box????

HELP!!!!! i'm clueless!!!!!! 😕

You've really got your work cut out to make this work well,
especially if the subwoofer uses electronic contouring of
its response, there is an awful lot of information you'd
need to know to get it to work well.

If the amplifier includes a low frequency roll-off
it will be even harder to extract really low bass.

Sorry, but not a good idea IMO.

Adding a powered reflex sub set up for
really low bass < 50Hz is a possibility.

🙂 sreten.

I found out what amplifier chip the system uses for the sub it's a Phillips TDA1560Q chip. Phillips website said this :

' The TDA1560Q is an integrated Bridge-Tied Load (BTL) class-H high power amplifier. In a load of 8 W, the output power is 40 W typical at a THD of 10%. '

the attached pdf file is the datasheet for the chip.

oh yes, The sub is a 8 ohm sub.

does this help anything? is there any way i can find out any information about the sub manually?
