My 1st question is this stuff all going to be compatible? Also what size fresnel lenses do i need to use with a 15'' lcd i have an old projector will those fresnels work? also this lamp is huge! how much did you guys light bill go up after using your diy projectors? Thanks
Well, I will comment on the increase on the electric bill. Think of it this way...
Say your projector (with 400W bulb, LCD, Fans) uses 500W total while running. Say you use your projector 3 hours per day everyday. Say it costs you $0.10 (10 cents USD) per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
500W * 3h = 1500Wh or 1.5kWh
1.5kWh * $0.10/kWh = $0.15 per day
30 days in a month so: 30 days * $0.15/day = $4.50 increase on the bill per month
So your numbers might be different if you are running a different wattage bulb, or use it more/less or the cost of electricity in your area is different.
This is actually fairly comparable to a large screen TV. They generally run between 180W and 400W.
