Hi all, I would be grateful if any one could let me know where I can purchase Cornell-Dubilier 10uf 1000vdc and 15uf 600vdc paper in oil capacitors. thank you regards peter.
Are you talking about NOS stock, or new manufactaurer capacitors?
The only ones I find on the CD web site that are oil filled are PP motor run types etc, not paper in oil.:

The oil filled cap that comes closest to 1KV is the 660VAC Motor Run type. There are also some dc rated caps towards the bottom of the page.
You should be able to find these locally as Motor Run Caps, or possibly cheaper at the on line auctions.

Thank you for your reply. I have found a dealer here in the uk that stocks Cornell-Dubilier. The caps are oil filled dc paper film. These are new Cornell-Dubilier part numbers are T6W15NR-F and T10W10NR-F. Best Regards Peter.

I put some plastic film insulated oil filled motor caps in my tube organ instead of electrolytic. 50 uf 440 vAC 1000 VDC was $15. Rated to pretty high horsepower motor-very low esr. Genelec brand, stocked at Farnell/Newark. Unless you're into RF, there won't be much difference between paper and plastic except the plastic will last longer.

Those "Type T" caps are honkers!
Rated for heavy duty pulse ratings for radar and such.
I'm sure they are fine caps, but standard motor run caps (metalized PP) should serve as well in an audio amp.
Maybe he is building a pulse LASER?

Hi All. The Cornell-Dubilier T caps are for a Western Electric 91A amplifier. I have made two of these amps using military paper in oil and one with pp motor run caps. To me the paper in oil sound better. The spec of the T caps on Cornell- Dubilier web site reads that they are paper foil. Thanks for your replies. Regards Peter.
