I want to convert a stereo amp to dual mono. It does not have a mono button and my knowledge and skills are extremely basic. Would it work if I combine the + wires, and then split back to 2 at the input to the volume control? I know that each + needs a 1k(?) resistor before combining. Does each mono + after splitting also need a resistor?
Would this also be possible with a new T amp?

I think you need to work out what it is you really want first.
stereo.
mono.
dual mono.
bridged.
Then you need to tell us What the amplifier is. Make, model, version.

Very simple, connect the tops of the volume controls together with a wire jumper.
If there are no series resistors in the circuit before the volume controls, add a pair
of series 1k resistors before the volume controls.
