Convert LCD/OHP front projector to rear projector?

Wonder if anyone has done a conversion from a DIY LCD/OHP front projector to a rear one by putting a screen in front of it and inverting the image.

Reason I'm doing this is because my room is quite small and the 100" image my OHP is putting out is way too big. It's like sitting in the front row in the cinema. So I shrink the output and waste all the pixels away.

Then I realised that I could possibly convert the projector into a RPTV by putting a screen about a foot from the OHP and get a decent sized image too while utilizing all the pixels available. Any thoughts? Tried searching for this but all DIY RPTVs seem to be based on mirrors and the traditional design.

Apartment's rented. Can't do ceiling mount and things like that and I can't move the projector easily due to space constraints.

I've been thinking about this and it's probably not doable cos the minimum projection distance is at least 3ft so putting a screen 1 ft away will not result in a focused picture. Anyone? Can't try now cos my condenser lens cracked due to bulb expanding and touching it.
