I'd like to convert my DAC (Lite Dac-ah) from AC to Battery Power. Looking at the schematic it shows that the Vreg's take in AC and supply the necessary DC voltage to the digital receiver and Dac chips. It also supplies the +/- voltage to the output stage but I will be bypassing the output stage with coupling caps rendering it useless. So I'm only on the hook to supply 5v and 8v dc to the receiver and dac's. Can I supply 12v DC directly to the voltage regulators and have them supply the correct voltage to the chips or do they not function that way? If not is my only option to find batteries at the required voltage and wire them directly to the Vcc, Va1 and Va2?

you need two battery 24 volts each . you see OPamps needs +-15Volts
so no interest for battery at all . better a good stabilized AC power supply for your nice transformer. or just a noise filter if needed.
