I am going to build a sub using a shiva's driver from adire audio.
I downloaded there paper on using sealed box .
Ialso down loaded the copy of LSPcad they have on there site it has the T/S figures for the shivas built in .
But the problem is it recommends different size boxes . so which one do i use ?

The paper describes the benefits of each design pretty well, I thought; the 88.5 liter box is the flattest with the most extension, and will tend to get you the "audiophile sound" (within the limits of your room and placement and all those other niggling details). Set up properly, it's going to sound smooth and refined and go quite deep, without an overwhelming sense of "loudness".
The 54 liter box has slightly less extension and a bigger bump at 50-70 hz for the hard-hitting punchy sound that lots of people prefer (even though, strictly speaking, it probably won't be as "accurate" as the other one. Within the previously stated limits.) This might be the one to build for home theater use and/or if you like to listen to music and feel the drums in your gut even at moderate volumes.
Your call at that point. Either one mated with a decent plate amp will outperform most any mass-market sub you'd get at three times the price. 😀
EDIT: now that I read again I may have misunderstood the question, please accept my apologies if this is in fact the case.
