Hello all,
I'm looking for info and replacement stylus for the Concord CIM-60 cartridge that came on my BIC 980 table.
How good is this cartridge? Look pretty good!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Might check over at Vinyl Engine - The Home of the Turntable, alternately you could consider replacing this cartridge with something currently in production. I came across a vague reference to Audio Technica as a potential OEM for this cartridge, but I am not at all sure about that.. I did not find much other than items for sale on eBay - might check there.
I would look at current production Nagaoka or Audio Technica MM as potential replacements.

Looked on Vinyl Engine and ebay...
I couldn't find anything more that what was posted there which was really nothing.
I looking into some other possibilites but if it was a good cartridge and I only need to get the stylus then I wanted to go that route.
I am looking at a Nagaoka MP-150 or Grado Gold or Goldring 2200 carts. The thing is the arm is a Low Mass arm so I'm limited on what cartridge to get. That Concord has a Compliance of 27 so another reason why I was looking into just the replacement stylus.

Hi,
FWIW the cartridge I'd fit to the BIC 980 is a Red Ed elliptical :
Ed Saunders Red Ed Cartridge
Hi-Fi Cartridge Reviews - Moving Magnet Cartridges
See the Elecktra review.
FWIW 16cu will suit the arm better than 27cu.
If you wan't something likely to be really better its a big jump in price for not much.
rgds, sreten.
In my book a great cartridge only sounds great in a good arm and turntable.
Conversely a good budget cartridge just gets better with the arm and turntable.
With respect, the BIC 980 is OK, but not that great, the right sort of cartridge.

Thank you for the replay and info. I will check this out. It might be the best band for the buck.
Hi,
Bang for buck the Red's and the AT92E rule the roost.
The AT92E is a P mount with a 1/2" adaptor.
The 0.3x0.7 tip is a step up up from the RedE's 0.4x0.7.
At 20 bucks the AT92E is a bargain for lower mass arms.
TBH though I don't think your arm is really low mass.
