Does anyone had a chance to compare modified SI t-amp with the stereo amplifiers sold in shops in a price range between 500 - 1000 usd nowadays???
How would sound of amps such as NAD, H/K, Cambride Audio, Rotel, Marantz, Denon compare to the sound of modified t-amp???
Could one generally say, that modified t-amp majorly outperforms those mid-class stereo amps, which are so popular among consumers???
What's your opinion, guys?

Given the increased cost is the UCD180's and UCD400 significantly better that the Charlize if so in what way?
the Tripaths are unfairly compared to the UcD's since the Tripaths had coupling capacitors which degraded sound quality while the UcD's did not, also the UcD's have far better power supplies. I'm going to build a UcD 400 and compare it to my modified AMP5 (a lot less junk in the signal path and soon to have top-notch inductors, better power supply too, dual mono layout). It will be a more fair comparison and determine if the UcD's are really worth the extra dollars over the (previous?) king, the Tripath.

Wow I can't wait to see your comments on that cotdt.
I'm a past owner of the legendary Lentek intergrated that is highly rated by the guys at HI-Fi+ and absolute power delivery aside, my Amp 3 compares more than favourably I.M.H.O.
The Amp 3 is quieter, smoother, more detailed and has a bigger allround sounstage.
The main speaker in use with the Lentek was the old favourite, Proac Tablette and I'm now using a pair of Monitor Audio Monitor 1's, very close to the Proacs in both size, efficiency, maximum spl's and just about everything else.
Guess we are talking 84-86 db spl for a watt at a meter so really the Lentek should have won the battle hands down given it was a top of the line item in its day and around £700 to boot!
But that's not the case, the little Amp 3 should not work with a pair of mini-monitors in theory, but hey, nobody here has told it and so it knows no better!
😀 😀 😀
