Does anyone know a vendor for those combination SPDIF/optical digital audio jacks? The kind that look like RCA jacks on the outside but also contain an optical jack hidden in the center, so that the one jack can support either wired coax or 3.5mm optical cables.
For example; like the multifunction jack shown on the far left side of this ifi audio DAC in the attached photo. Which supports three modes; SPDIF in, SPDIF out, or optical in.

My old Sony Vaio AW laptop uses a 3.5mm combo jack.
One time I was able to send SPDIF with a orange red led connected to a Soundblaster Awe32 Soundcard to my Minidisk.
Perhaps that kind of Led placed behind a standard RCA connector would do the trick.

Thanks, for responding. I appreciate it. However, I want to identify a vendor and an data sheet for one of those commercial made combo jacks. I'm assuming, of course, that these jacks are ready made, and not hand built by the DAC box vendor.
