Hi there
Not sure how widely known the Coleman filament regulator kits are. I've used a few recently with really excellent results in terms of eliminating filament noise on DHT's in SET's with full range highly sensitive drivers (Lowthers, 101 db). I can achieve total silence when using these regulators in my 300b SETs (D3a driver with interstage).
I've just started on my latest 211 design using these on the 211 filament and I'm achieving 4.5mV ripple, even with a tacky smoothing capacitor !
Definitely worth a try if you dont know them already. [ Rod Coleman DHT Filament Regulator ]

I have designed quite a few valve pre amps, mixers and power amps and never found the need for DC heaters.
On the few instances I have had hum its always turned out to be something else.

Absolutely snake oil to think a DC heater is essential unless you have cathode heater leaks in substandard valves. Regulated mains supply better than 10% is built into the heater tolerances so no need for regulation either.
I know Marshall used DC heaters for a while to encourage failure as the heaters draw 1.25A and the diodes used were 1A. That has now stopped!
The world renown Quad 2 preamp used raw AC and was perfectly quiet, so why fix something that is not broken.
