Closest thing to this

I am looking to practise some karaoke/singing at home, so nothing very big.

I was recommended the following:

-Alto TX8 100$
-Yamaha MG10XU 200$
-Mic PG48, although he recomments the SM58, better option. 50$/100$
-2 x Jack to Jack cable. 10$

Now, the cheapest place I found selling them all, and believe me I searched lo. was a total 415 quid for all 4.

My question is, is there any cheaper alternatives ?
The most expensive piece of equipment is the Yamaha, I was wondering, maybe I buy the other stuff, and there could be cheaper alternatives to the Mixer ?

Much appreciated.

Behringer XM8500 are budget Shures; a professional (~30 years) vocalist friend of mine prefers it since I gave her one to test. I had taken off the Behringer sticker, otherwise she probably would not have given it a fair chance.

Look for the Alesis Multimix4 and buy XLR cables not 1/4 jacks.

Also, going back to your point ''buy XLR cables not 1/4 jacks'' What do you mean by that, by any chance you can link or upload a picture of such.

I was told this: ''Jack to Jack XLR X4 to connect from mixter to speaker and 2 for mic.''

I wasn't entirely sure what he meant, so I just searched 2 jack to jack cables.

The mic(s) need an XLR plug and most mixers accept both.

You need cables with XLR plugs on both ends, this is especially important for the mic as it must go through the mic preamp in the mixer, if you connect to a 1/4 jack input on the mixer the mic preamp is bypassed. For the speakers it doesn't matter as long as the cables are balanced 3 conductors).. XLR or TRS.

I'd suggest any Shure mic over the copies as well, one thing Shure does well even with the PG series is suspend the capsule inside the body with nice supple rubber, most of the cheap copies have a rigid plastic mount which transfers a lot more handling noise.

With mixers as with all electronics you get what you pay for. The Yamaha MG is better quality than all the cheap Chinese stuff but there are plenty that are better than the Yamaha too. All of them will function similarly but more money buys more headroom, better features, better sound, better special effects, and greater reliability.

Thank you so much, you have no idea, how much this has helped.

Yeah, I was also told great things about the Schure M58. Ill prob lean towards that then. Ill get Alesis Multimix4 as the previous poster recommended for the mixer, and maybe after a year or so, I'll buy the Yamaha one, or better. Now I know about the XLR cables, thats sorted aswel now.

Only thing remainds is the pa/amp lol

The only thing which I require the minimum is gain, treble and bass. And was told the RMS should be min 300. But I am having trouble finding such, that has all these features below 150 quid

In your first post you write that you are looking for practice at home. You don't need a pa amp for that; anything with a line input would be fine.

RMS 300 watt? Power is like fuel consumption for a car; it does not say much about how fast or loud it goes. You want a certain loudness, SPL. Specs are a big problem as most are optimistic at best, often damn lies.

An amp makes a team with the speakers it is driving.

Have a look at a (used) Yamaha stagepas, powered mixer and speakers combo if you are looking for a nice first PA. I prefer the smaller 300 and 400 over the bigger models. Difference in output is minimal and you should add a subwoofer (in a corner of the room) if you want bass at a party.

Most of your budget should go to the speakers, least to the amp, mic('s) and cables to get the best bang for your buck.

I believe there are two variations of the Shure SM58, one of them with more gain and more expensive. Depending on the mouth distance it can make a huge difference. Test both.
The Yamaha MG8 perhaps suits You, since it has two mic inputs and is cheap.
I also like the Behringer mixers, they usually have balanced Jack line in's, The Yamahas Have jack line ins but are not balanced (Intended for instruments). Not sure about the 10X. Sometimes I have to bring & insert a long cable (20-50m) from another main mixer / gear and the balanced line ins are handy for this. Keep this in mind.
As what speakers concerns, I don't like ALTO stuff, but it's for home karaoke, and should be fine.
