maybe someone can help?, i'm plan to upgrade the clock from my very old nakamichi Dac ,the clock frequency is 18Mhz i think ,as labeled on it's original clock ,but i can't find the high grade clock such tentlabs ,trichord ,etc with the same frequency.
my question ,can i replace the original 18Mhz clock ,with other clock with frequency say 18,..... Mhz
thanks

16.9344MHz would be more likely for the Nakamichi. What is the model of your Nak?

this old naka dragon dac actually sound good enough ,but i feel
the transparancy is not too good ,high frequency is a bit dull.
i want to improve this .any suggest what should i do?
thanks

You could try changing the ne5532 opamps for LM4562 by National Semi. These are many people's favourite and will sound far more detailed and transparent than the original parts.
Changing the caps decoupling the opamps will help a lot too.
Cheers, Lee.

What Lee said + I think that dac runs 24.576Mhz.
There should be 2 crystals on the pcb one of which is for the cpu which will be the 18Mhz. Unless you misread the crystal and it was 16.934Mhz.

cheers
