Hello,
Been trying to put together the crossover for Paul Carmody’s Classix II but have had some trouble reading the schematics.
Not the prettiest soldering job but its honest work.
Would you say this crossover is correct?

Hello,
Been trying to put together the crossover for Paul Carmody’s Classix II but have had some trouble reading the schematics.
Greets!
How so? It's very easy to read once blown up.
Would you be able to help Geoff? It's a bit hard to tell without having a 3D brain, I'm afraid. I've built these and my XO is very messy. I built it on two boards, one for each driver and didn't conceal the wires and joins. I'm sure someone will be able to assist, but.
Geoff
I mean, I've done my best soldering it, hope my best is enough. It looks right.
I can't account for the quality of the joints or an accidental short circuit, one always has to assume these can exist, and to develop a testing regimen.
I was going to do the photoshop overlay but then I thought I'd go the extra step and draw it in as that is clearer.. but yes, WASTd has the skills 🙂
Haha thank you! Some cool trick photography wastd 😎
You just need to develop a procedure. I mean, I don't presume my circuits will work first time even though they often do, any more than I'd jump in my car and assume I won't smash into something so I don't have to pay attention even though I'm experienced.I mean, I've done my best soldering it, hope my best is enough.
Except with circuits you sometimes can't see the thing that will cost you time and money and which can in many cases put your life in danger.
Your most at hand skills and techniques in this case are going to be...
Starting at low volume levels and taking it slowly.
Listening for problems/distortions.
Using your senses to detect unexpected heat related issues.
Your best tangible skills and techniques are going to be...
Checking for unexpected opens and shorts with a meter.
Measuring the impedance with a sweep to confirm its operation.
Going over your wiring again and again.
