Are Class D/T amps a good choice for a subwoofer?
I thought I would use a Class D for their efficiency, especially when idle. However, I am really tempted by the MF300 Mosfet Module from BK Electronics http://www.bkelec.com/MODULES/mf300.htm Seems like excellent value for money, and well respected.
What do you think? 😕
Stuart.

But since you're a new member and I've already replied I'll indulge you 😉
Of course class d amps are good as subwoofer amplifiers. On the audio scene, they were first used only as subwoofer amplifiers because of their poor performance at higher audio frequencies. Fortunately, things have advanced and class d amps are now very capable of reproducing the full range of audio frequencies, some with very high efficiency.
