WM8281 : Low Power Smart Codec with Ambient Noise Cancellation and Echo Cancellation
This one from cirrus logic seems particularly interesting for the following reasons:
1: Integrated ADC,DSP,DAC sections all in one (should lead to simpler design)
2. Low power -> high quality operation (suitable for mobile operation)
3. Multi channel operation enabling lots of experimentation.
Has anyone had any experience with these chips or others listed on the following page?
Codecs - Smart Codecs with Integrated Programmable DSP, Portable Codecs, Mono/Stereo Codecs, Multichannel Codecs, AC '97 and HD Audio Codecs, Noise Cancellation Codecs
Are they good for beginner to mid level DAC projects?
Any experience with the dsp available in these chips? How easy are they to program with?
Any online/open projects available to try?
