I was looking over builds for some speakers i want to build and i became interested in class d amp boards. It seems that with a lil work i could put together a nice amp or set of amps to power my speaker active. There seems to be so many boards i don't know which to pick. I want as many watts as i can get. Anything over 150. As i read some of the threads it seemed that some boards were not that good. Which boards are solid and stable at a reasonable price? the $20 Abletec supply seems to be a good deal but are there any cons to them? Is there a better power supply at a reasonable price? With the amp board recommendations i would need to know things like how can run a power supply and if there would be anything else i would need to add.
I'm running one of these for my bi-amp project:
Yuan-Jing TDA7850 4 x 50W Audio Amplifier Board
Using a simple SMPS LED power supply
and
This as a preamp
Robot Check
Experiment on the audio side went great, got it into the house, and the WAF was too low, moved on from Bi amped to something else ...

The WAF is the Wife Acceptance Factor. The open baffle speaker was as small as possible for this design type, yet too large for acceptance into the living room. Thus, the project as a whole was unacceptable.
That said, the sound quality was more than good enough, and the next step would have been moving to a digital cross over.
