I recently bought this cheap SE amplifier kit with 6P3 output. I´m listening to it right now and it sure sounds nice for the money, about $82 with postage. I also bougt a power tranny, for $28, for 220 V primary. so the whole amp cost me $110.
Some things went wrong, one of the 6P3 tubes were broken in transit, and the power tranny was with 220/280V secondary instead of 220V CT/200 mA, 6,3V/3A ( I didn´t specify the voltage so maybe this is my fault), and don´t seem to cope with the heater current, it gets somewhat warm. Until I get a replacement for the broken tube I play with 6V6 tubes. The power tranny will get used in my phono preamp 🙂
But as an introduction to tube amps this kit is good, I will experiment with tube rolling, and different biases and CCS. This until I have collected all the stuff to my Byrith amp.

The amp kit can be had with other tubes, as EL34, 6V6 and EL84 among others.

As with any chinese products, the specs, in this case the frequency response (30-40Khz (+-1db)), seems exaggerated. I'm not sure output transformers that size would give such response. Well, can't complain for the price you're paying. If it sounds good to you, then it sounds good. End of story.
Wow!...I just checked that Site...I can not believe how much Tube Gear that the Chinese are making...

Yes, the specifications are probably exaggerated. But it sound nice, with good midrange and highs, of course the low bass is lacking.
Haven´t had time to do any measurements, but after the holidays I will measure with RMAA.

I don't know. I think it's great that the Chinese are making stuff for tube audio...
what I do find very concerning is the fact that people seem to be fine being lied to about specifications, so long as the price is right.
I know some countries don't have much used tube stuff, but $75 spent on a vintage console pull would be a better investment.
The specs will be legit, so will the voltage ratings. Once the perishable parts are replaced you are good to go. Chances are you will even be able to consult others about it and make improvements upon it.
You pretty much live in the best country for tubed stuff on the used market. We have lot's here in Canada too, but the good stuff is mostly down south or in the Ottawa area. (Kind of a silicon valley)
I was looking for a diy kit to start with tubes and i am going to orded the one you are recommending. I see you had problems with the PT. Please seppoa could you tell me what PT should I order for this 6N2+6P3P kit ?I recently bought this cheap SE amplifier kit with 6P3 output.
