Sorry if this has been posted already...I couldn't find anything on it.
I just bought a 500w halogen work lamp cause it was only $7US and I figure I can find a use for it elsewhere if it doesn't work for my projector. It's worth a shot though at only $7...
My question is...wouldn't it be possible to use this lamp with it's low color temp which gives off a yellowish hue, and then just find a monitor that will allow me to tweak the RGP output and therefore hopefully cancel out the yellowish hue of the light by upping the red and blue on the monitor? I don't need it to be absolutely perfect, but it's worth a shot considering the money I'd be saving over a metal halide lamp..right? I realize I will have other problems like heat, but money is a huge object and it seems like finding a monitor that will allow me to adjust the colors would be cheaper than buying a $200 lamp.
Worth a shot, or lame idea?
