Charlies line preamp with 6N8S

Hi all can you help me with this project, I'm just a tube noob here.
Charlies line preamp with 6N8S instead of 6sn7s.
Is it a good tube within operating specs?
Looks like max voltage is 330.
Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance...... Robert

Welcome to tubes. Good luck with your build.

What kind of help do you need? In general you could use a 6N8S in a circuit calling for a 6SN7. I don’t recognize the circuit you posted; could you provide a link to the source?

Artosalo is pointing out that the 330V on the data sheet is Ua (the maximum anode voltage), not the supply voltage Ub. In the circuit you wish to build the Ub would be only 250V, which is well below specs. Ua would be the voltage after the load resistor (47k), which would be even lower.

So, go ahead and build you preamp and enjoy it. I will work very well with 6N8S.

I Appreciate FrancoisG
Now I can build it with confidence in mind!
