Character & photo limit of posts

I'm going to be placing a more in depth write up of a rebuilt./modification that I did to my speakers. What is the character limit & photo limit for a single post?

I'm happy to split the content into several posts in a new thread...is to original post followed by posts 2, 3, 4,.....just hate it when somebody manages to comment as a new post when I'm trying to "reserve" the next post...Had this happen on other forums..

Also as I can't see a separate "my build" section I presume the best section to place my "modification thread" is the "Multiway speaker" section......just I'm not asking questions just placing my "how I did it" as a reference guide...

IIRC, the character limit is 10,000. Photos that are over the limit are handled so you should still be able to post them.

I know the feeling, so it's good you're preparing the initial posts in advance. You have edit rights in the first post so you can post a temporary note there asking members to hold off. Let us know if you run into trouble with it.

I'll post it up in several sections...with the photos split up between the sections.

I note that I can only re-edit the first post & comments can't be so thanks for the heads up!

Also re photos..I have resized to max of 1000x1000pixels...is it better to leave them as "thumbnails" at the bottom of each section/post/comment...or to included them as photos in the post between the writing.....or is that messy?...

It's your choice. (I generally make my photos thumbnails between the text. I feel they can be too 'in your face' when full sized, especially when there are several in a post, but there are exceptions 😉 )

Looking at the amount of photos which I am cutting down I thought it would get too "in your face"....

So photos as thumbnails can be placed anywhere in a post/comment??..& they don't all collect at the bottom of the post/comment?

You can do that with images by doing this..

PDF files should just attach. They stay at the bottom, so if you want something up in the post you'll have to turn them into an image.

1000X is messy.

BUT you can "Insert, Full image" and then grab the corner and re-size it down.

The viewer gets a hint; and if it looks interesting, can click for bigger. Meanwhile the text flow is not brought to a complete stop.
