Hello all !!
I need to know as to how to change the mains operating voltage of Krell Integrated amp KAV-400xi from US 110V 60Hz to UK 220V 50Hz.
There's a similar thread on this Forum where it was done via 3 switches on a KAV-300iL but does anyone have an idea on the 400xi ??
Thanks in advance!!

You need to change switches and replace the chip (MCU). Switches are no big deal - you set the 2-2-2 for 240v and 2-2-1 for 220v. But you still need a chip. You can get one from your Krell dealer.
and the profit the importer and dealer would have made on this lost sale is added to the chip price making it very expensive (a complete rip off in an attempt to control grey imports).
Krell should be shot at dawn for incorporating this anti free market hardware/software.

there are ways and means around it apparently.. i think they were covered in the Krell K300i thread. Basically, either modify the microcontroller's program to not care, or build a circuit that tricks it into thinking 60Hz is still in use
