changed to NAD C510 DAC/preamp treble went through the roof?

I upgraded my system recently to a Nad c510 preamp and a Rotel RB 1080 im running a set of (Acoustat spectra 11 electrostatics) and the detail is amazing but the treble is really more than i have ever had in a speaker is there any way to deal with this- has anyone come accross something like this before?

It is very easy to get a collection of boxes which are unwilling to make music together. Electrostatic speakers are notoriously hard to please and tend to exaggerate thinness and brightness in other components.

A valve, or a transistor class A amp can bring a dramatic change, but so can a valve preamp together with a multibit dac. Unless you can easily swap components or build your own i see no easy solution.

IME Rotel amps generally have a tendency to sound cold and bright. No opinion about this particular NAD, but is is clearly based on a delta sigma dac and many of these share a similar tonal balance.

Changing interconnect cables can also bring some improvement. Transparent/MIT, VDH carbon will all help. Anything silver should be avoided.
