I can't find any reference to your turntable.
And I don't know what cartridges are available in Spain
or their relative cost.
Prices of brands vary quite a lot due to the importer.
I'd generically recommend an Audio Technica AT95E for the
standard typical Japanese S-shaped arm, the cartridge
usually costs barely more than the stylus alone.
(Only applicable to Europe cartridge model I believe)
£16 (16GBP) in the UK.
🙂 sreten.

If the turntable uses a p-mount cartridge (I have a Technics SL-DL1 that uses p-mount), then it should be easy to change to another cartridge. My TT came with a Technics cartridge. I got tired of the sound of my system and was thinking of spending a lot of money for new speakers. I instead dumped the Technics cartridge and replaced it with a bottom-of the-line Grado. This changed my system sound enourmously for the better, and I forgot about buying new speakers.
Thnaks for your reply.
I don´t know if it´s P-mount, because I loose the manual.
But I found out a web where are the Features, I don´t understand it, but Could you help me,please?
It´s:

has the technics stylus for £28, I'd say a AT95E is far better.

Prices for the AT95E are very good compared to elsewhere,
(£16 vs. £28.50) the cartridge is only £1 more than the stylus.

What don't you understand ?
The arm does not take P-mounts, standard 1/2" mounting.
Also note if you change the cartridge you need to know how
to align it correctly in the headshell - a web search will help
with this if you want to achieve accurate two point alignment.

Pmount or standard screw mount, I would get a Grado if you can afford one. Grado uses a moving iron technology that allows the cartridge to have significantly less inductance (~10X less) than a standard moving magnet cartridge. Termination resistance and capacitance is much less critical, and you have fewer problems with electrical resonance of the cartrige inductance with stray (or terminating) capacitance. I have personally found Audio Technicas to be hissy and spitty, and wouldn't use anything these days except for a Grado or a high output moving coil cartridge. In the end though, you use what you can find and afford - it's just my 2 cents worth...

In my system optimised for CD, I found the Grado Black a trifle
dull. The AT's can be peaky at the top end, I think its caused by
too much capacitive loading, shortening the arm lead can help.
I like the Black, but TBH at £40 compared to £16 for the AT95E,
with little overall difference in sound quality (the technics tonearm
is a major leveller here) but differences in sonic tonal presentation
you have to go for the far cheaper option.
Technically speaking the cartridges stylus tips are near identical,
bushed 0.4x0.7 elliptical tip, manafacturing costs are near identical.
However the AT95E has a compliance (6.5cu vs 20cu) far more
suited to chunky Japanese S-shaped arms with brass arm tubes.
The Black can be a godsend to a bright system, conversely a
AT can transform a dull one - though loading is more difficult.
In the States its the other way round - a Black is $36 and a stylus $20,
whilst an imported AT95E is $80 (can be had for less) and a stylus $40.

Technics SL-D3 Direct Drive Automatic Turntable
I have the manual, I printed it from a site on line and it says that the stylus for the TechnicsSL-D3 is EPC-P30. Ours was damaged in shipping and now I need to find a new one, do you have a source? You can get the manual at The Vinyle Engine,
http://www.vinylengine.com/library_model.php?make=Technics&selected_model=SL-D3
Let me know if you have a line on a needle cartridge. 😕 😕

After killing my cartdrige last night, the only replacement I can seem to source localy is the AT91... would that be much worse than the AT95 recommended here?
The turnatable is a Sansui FR-D3 like this one

Hi,
I think the AT91 is AT's dirt cheap special, its awful compared to the AT95E.
I think that is the model with the black plastic (carbon loaded)
cantilever, so it would be easy to tell by visual inspection.
If I'm mistaken and it has an aluminium cantilever, may be ok.
🙂/sreten.
It will have to do until such time as I can afford something better...all I could get on short notice.
Thanks for the opinion, at least if I don't like it, I will know why... it should arrive in the morning.
Anywhere one could have the original cartridge rewound?
The new vsps is all hooked up and ready 🙂 And 2 new LPs from the market I haven't listened to.

Hi,
if it is the plastic cantilever special, don't show it any hi-fi records,
from what I remember it doesn't track too well, mistracking causes
most damage to records, not record wear.
Do not try to use low tracking weights.

I don't think that the s-shaped arm is made of brass so it cannot be that heavy. If Nagaoka MP11 is within your budged,go for it,it simply wins over the AT95,tracks very well and sounds really good, with flat response and very good bass for the price. They are new(not old stocks as many think)
