Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between the Celestion HF2000 and the Celestion HF2001. It would appear that the HF2001 was used in the 332, 442, 551 and 662 models,
whereas the HF2000 was used in the previous generation 25, 44 and 66 models. Would the HF2001 work in an older 66?

The HF2001's were the next model of the HF2000 and used in the 332 , 442, 551 and 662 and other models in the early 80's. Apparently quite a bit different from the 2000. Celestion had no data on either so not sure if they will work as substitutes.

Sorry for the late reply but given how little information there is on the differences between these tweeters I figure it best to add what I know here.
I've recently taken a HF2001 tweeter apart and the dome shape and material appears to be identical to the HF2000, as does the permanent magnet behind. The main differences seem to be how the dome is attached to the speaker, with the HF2000 it's just stuck on with a ring of tape, with the HF2001 it's clamped down and held with a large ring double sided tape under a solid piece that holds it all together. The build quality is also a lot better with the HF2001, while the HF2000 looked messy and almost crude all the coatings on the HF2001 look evenly applied.
The coil also appears to be arranged slightly tighter and in a very slightly further back position under the dome.

As compared to that the coil is thinner and positioned higher up along the edge.
The reason I took apart my HF2001 is that it was completely dead, the coil was utterly fried so I unwound it and measured it, 28 turns of 40 awg wire measuring 192cm terminal to terminal. due to the design of the HF2001 it would be very easy to construct a jig to attach the thing to a hand drill so I've ordered some replacement wire and I fully intend to have a crack at re-winding the thing.
If anyone is interested I'll happily post some pictures tomorrow some time, I'll definitely write up the repair once it's done too.

One HF2000 dome tweeter has become unglued, the little protective metal grill fell off, seems otherwise undamaged apart from the paper washer below also unglued. Actual tweeter looks A1 fine.
I am going to try to glue it back together, if that fails, buy another. Any tips on repairing an unglued grill and the paper washer below it would be appreciated.
Any pointers to URLs or of course any suggestions in a post, which glue to use & so on?

hi, i have the hf 2001 in my 66's and the sound is great. the only differece i could see betwwen these and my hf2000's in my 44's was the way you can attach the tweeter to the baffle with counter suck screw hole in the face plate rather that the hf2000 held in with clips that the screw to the baffle. however my hf2001's are still held in the 66's by the clips as using the screw holes would of left holes in the baffle.
