CCS on SE 2A3 cathode

Hi all,

Doesn't hear much on putting CCS at SE tube's cathode, 2A3 and 300B or alike.
I did make a pp EL84 with CCS on cathode with very good result, so I thought it might be a good idea to convert my 2A3 with that configuration.
I wonder if anyone out there has tried this configuration, and what is the result.

But I don’t know the bypass cap can wired up that way?

You are probably talking of the NFB cap. Not sure i like it much either.

Btw, the interstage transformers i've tried don't sound too great loaded with 47k but you get low ringing on the scope. A much better compromise is to load with a snubber.

Nothing can convince me that the horrible 317 CCS is not audible in that position.

i was using LM317 in cathode of the 12B4 preamplifier - it was better than classic resistor but it was audiable that it is there.....so i ended using a ccs in the anode of the the tube....much much better.....
i assume that 317 ccs can be very well heard in this application....
especially in the treble...
