Greetings, I bought a pair of used Castle Howard S2's. The tweeter has been replaced with a soft dome in place of the metal dome from the factory. The XOvers have been worked on and I am not sure if the drivers are connected properly, ie; in phase and to the right terminals (+ or - on the drivers). Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the crossovers for the Castle Howard S2? I recall some speakers in the past actually had tweeters wired in reverse from the crossover and am wondering if this is the case here. Thanks in advance
It's going to be much easier for you to trace it yourself!
I'd expect it to be wired positive polarity, unless it is very high order.
The original metal tweeter looks awfully familiar. Maybe a Vifa D25AG-05-06 metal dome. But almost anything will do, IMO. But some level adjustment required.

Hi,
You have the most information, so trace it yourself.
X/o is most likely 4th order acoustic with aligned driver polarity.
Only if apparently 2nd order acoustic would reverse apply,
Or as S7 intimates for 6th order acoustic as well, unlikely.
Electrical order of the x/o usually doesn't help much and
if the acoustic targets are odd order phasing is hard to say.
Original tweeter is Vifa, almost anything will not do,
a replacement needs to match its parameters closely,
in the areas of its low rolloff and driver impedance.
Only then is level matching relatively trivial.
rgds, sreten.

Thanks for the help people. Originally had the Vifa D25ag05-06 tweeter installed. The soft dome currently installed has different spec's than that one. The Seas 27BFC looks like a better fit. Yes, I did trace the current xover but was puzzled as one tweeter is connected in the opposite polarity as the one in the other cabinet. That's why I was hoping someone had a set of these to confirm the tweeter connections. These are beautifully made speakers. Thanks again.
