Case upgrade for my NOS DAC, plus some tweaks

I believe those coupling caps are Mullard NOS poly caps. While not everyone would agree, those are pretty good caps (if that is what they are). They are quite sought after and many people love their sound.

If I was to make a recommendation it would be to increase the supply capacitance and change the rectifier to a better one. I know there is technically no need, but my preference is too very large amounts of capacitance, and/or resistors and inductors for a CLC or CRC supply. Even with regulators I find this makes for an improvement in sound. In fact, it does make a measurable difference as well in many preamps. As to the rectifier, most people find that modern FRED type rectifiers lower the noise floor and improve sound. I've never found a FRED type or even a decent bridge in that small round type. One could be built from individual diodes easily enough.
