Hello,
my new HR-895 turns on, everything seems to be functional ( fixed the power supply a few days ago ), but I noticed the right channel is noisy, similar to a dusty vinyl record, with volume turned down, it becomes more frequent, than at one point there is a popping sound, short an loud...
it is only on the right channel on both A and B, and on headphones...
I did look for loose components, bad solder, visually and by tapping the components, applying some force to the board, etc.... cannot find anything... read posts about possible bad resistors, transistors, caps.. but since the noise is also present on the headphones, the failed component is not in the output section of the amp... is this the pre-amp section? - would it be near the component RCA inputs of the receiver - I do not have much experience with audio devices... how would I identify the section responsible for feeding also the headphone output?
Thank you very much,
lolek

I had the same problem; there are a couple of small signal transistors which go bad, IIRC it's on the board on the back right of the unit, facing the unit head on. Keep looking for the exact ones, I found it with Google.
Have one on the bench, same prob. Replace Q704 (2SC2705) and Q702 (2SA1145). These Xsistors go out of spec due to over heating. If possible, install heat sinks on these, as well as Q701 & Q703 (left chan). Use care as the pcb pads are VERY thin and easily damaged. Be sure the pads are CLEAN and solder flows evenly. Good luck. Cheers, Al
