Hi,

Fidelity used to make mundane record players for the UK market.

My experience of a cheap Sonotone MM is that it was awful.
Simply mistracked all over the place and did not sound good.
$12 is very cheap but IMO not worth it, its rubbish.

For a cheap decent cartridge :

Get an Audio Technica $18 CN5625AL, or $30 AT92E, or $40
AT95E they are all good. The AT92E is very good for lower
mass arms the other two medium / high mass arms.
For $40 also consider a Grado Black if the ATs are too bright.

🙂/sreten.

Thanks guys

I bought the cartridge to give them away with some of my earlier diy phono amps. One I will use with a dj turntable.

I guess I have to suggest an cartridge upgrade.

For my own listening pleasure I have

Grados( black,green,blue and red)
shures (V15II,V15III,M55,andM91)
Audio technica(OC9 LC155,120,at12(shibata) and few other med price models)
med priced JVC(shibata),Pickering,empire,and sonus

My all round favorite is the M91,go figure
