Hey guys,
In my quest for a trnsport a friend of mine and I were wondering whether anyone has modified a car CD player for home use as a transport. We thought that the transport would be better for the price since cars move around a lot. Secondly, they are built with a 12V supply in mind (althought that can be modified). Third, with a good mechanism, it is only a matter of building an externally vibration damped casing. What kind of outputs do car CD players have? Any recommendation on a candidate CD player?
Thanks for responses,
Salsero

could be a viable project....a good car cd player will give you 4 volts at 100 ohms....I use my Alpine 7939 all the time for testing....but then again it had a $1200 retail price tag at the time....now adays things are cheaper....panasonic makes some half decent players as well as clarion....might be worthwhile
