caps for altec bolero 890c crossover rebuild
Altec Bolero 890c: Need 2 each 3uf caps and one each 6uf cap; can only find 3.3 uf caps and 6uf caps from seemingly dubious sources on ebay: Questions:1) are 3.3 caps too high uf rating; 2) can anyone recommend US sourcing;3)are there other acceptable, accessible cap values I can use instead of the ones above. This is my first recap and I want to get it right...Thank you all for assistance...Kindest regards, Warshard

You could try:
Capacitors - Parts Express
Also, if you don't mind ordering from Canada (hey, exchange in your favour)

MIT / Relcap have 3 uf and 6 uf (or 2 x 3 uf in parrallel). Parts Connexion or Micheal Percy
Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Film and foil caps are recommended for high current applications like crossovers).

I recommend buying an inexpensive motor run cap since you most likely have the room inside the cabinet. You can buy on Amazon or Mouser/Digikey. They are available in 3 and 6 uF. Aerovox is a brand I use a lot but may be more difficult to find.

Here is another cap you should consider. I have not used Clarity CSA caps in crossovers but I have a friend who likes them and the price is good for a film cap. For the 6 uF cap, just connect two 3 uF caps in parallel.
